Despite policies disincentivizing clean energy growth, the U.S. added a record 9.7 GWh of energy storage capacity in the first quarter (Q1) of 2026, up 32% year-over-year (YoY), according to a joint report by Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and Benchmark Mineral Intelligence. By 2030, the market is expected to exceed an annual installation capacity of 110 GWh and reach a cumulative installation capacity of 613 GWh.
