The Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission (UERC) has rejected Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam’s (UJVN) petition seeking restoration of the earlier benchmark capacity charge for standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) projects.The Commission ruled that tariffs for viability gap funding (VGF)-backed projects must be discovered through competitive bidding and adopted by the Commission.
