Supported by subsidies under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, rooftop solar adoption in India has gained significant momentum, particularly in the residential segment, as households increasingly turn to solar power to reduce electricity costs. According to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, India supported rooftop solar installations for over 5 million households under PM Surya Ghar since its launch in February 2024.
