Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) and its subsidiaries have petitioned the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission to revise Renewable Power Purchase Obligation (RPPO) targets for 2024-25 and waive penalties for a shortfall in renewable energy procurement. GUVNL attributed the shortfall to external factors, including project delays and generation issues, and requested to use surplus from Distributed Renewable Energy to offset deficits in other categories.
