The Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission (KSERC) partially approved KSEBL’s proposal for short-term power procurement to mitigate electricity shortages due to low hydro levels and increased demand. Only peak-hour procurement was approved, allowing 346.42 million units at Rs 10.04 per unit. KSEBL must reinforce demand management and explore power-banking arrangements.
