Sino-American Silicon Products (SAS), a Taiwan-based manufacturer of semiconductor and renewable energy materials, and United Renewable Energy (URECO), a Taiwanese solar cell and module manufacturer, have established a U.S.-based joint venture to set up a 1 GW solar module manufacturing facility.The companies said the project will involve a total planned investment of approximately $40 million. SAS will hold a 51% equity stake in the venture, while URECO will own the remaining 49%.
