ACCIONA Energía is developing a battery energy storage system in Chile’s Atacama Desert, to integrate with the El Romero solar plant. The facility will have a capacity of 196MW/980MWh, enhancing renewable energy integration and grid stability. This project will double the company’s storage capacity in Chile to 2GWh by 2027.
